It is 1954 and a terrible murder has been committed - a man has been stabbed, apparently by his own son. For this kind of crime there is only one penalty - the death penalty. As the jury retire to consider their verdict, it seems almost certain that the defendant will be put to death: nearly all of the Jurors are convinced of his guilt - except one.
