Fresh from a successful 2006 season with the World Shakespeare Congress, QSE is bringing the series back by popular demand and will play for the
public for two weeks only.
Are your student actors:
QSE can
customize one-off voice or Shakespeare text workshops, or a whole
training series to the needs of your school or theatre group. Courses
may consist of simple voice exercises and/or introduce tools such as
personalization, working with verse structure and rhythm and the actor's
use of the First Folio. QSE can also as help with script analysis and
provide techniques for opening up the actors connections to the language
and creating an ensemble, making the rehearsal process or class
experience effective and meaningful. Dr. Rob Pensalfini, a Senior
Lecturer in Linguistics and Drama at the University of Queensland, is
also available to lead talks on a number of topics including
Shakespeare's English, Taking Care of Your Voice, Shakespeare's First
Texts and others. Contact
EDUCATION for more information. In 2006, QSE piloted a project at Borallon Correctional using Shakespeare and Augusto Boal's world-renowned Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) methodology. Following on from the initial intensive training provided by US Theatre of the Oppressed practitioner Brent Blair, QSE will also continue to train ensemble and general members in TO methodologies, and will also be offering this essential training to teachers. Email EDUCATION for more on the program or to express interest in TO training. You may also visit our ACE page for more about the project. |
