Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing is a 'coming of age' love story filled with lively celebration and sharp witty interaction. The stage is set in Messina, Italy, a town celebrating the end of a war, and the audience is taken on a playful journey through intrigue and deception as we celebrate the way animosity can be transformed into love. Like so many of Shakespeare's plays it is as relevant and accessible today as it was 400 years ago. It features a cynical, jaded generation of 'late bloomers' finding love after a lifetime of decrying it. Theatregoers will be welcomed into an atmosphere of celebration from the moment they enter the performance space, with live music, food and drink and gentle audience interaction. QSE's production promises to highlight the joy that is inherent in this play, and the humour found in relationships not only between men and women but between generations. The production will make use of Brisbane's perfect outdoor climate and take place in the Amphitheatre in the beautiful Roma Street Parklands with a lively atmosphere, much like that of the great theatres of Shakespeare's own day. Patrons are invited to bring a picnic, and to come early to listen to the live music and enjoy the gardens. During the performance the audience will be seated (and shaded) on the amphitheatre's stage. Renowned for making the language of Shakespeare accessible and easy to understand, QSE's skilful presentation will allow audiences to laugh at how easily humans make a drama out of "nothing"!
