Following an exciting year for the company, with our hugely popular mainstage repertory season of Hamlet + Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead, the premiere of another new play, The Blood Votes, and the introduction of new workshops and training initiatives, the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble is looking forward to an even bigger 2019!
Shakespeare's Shorts is bouncing into 2019 with a brand-new set, an energetic cast and the clarity of Shakespeare's text that QSE is celebrated for!
Super popular with school groups, we will once again be offering a number of 6:30pm performances of our mainstage production, Henry IV Part I, in the gorgeous Roma Street Parkland, each followed by a Q&A session for students.
2019 will also see the launch of our fully-fledged QSE In-School Workshop Program. Have our professional teaching artists visit your students, and work with developing skills in our company specialty areas of Voice training, Speaking Shakespearean Text, and Theatre of the Oppressed.
We've packed our June/July holidays with additional training opportunities, with our Young Actor's Shakespeare Intensive for teens, and for teachers interested in professional development in Forum Theatre, we've got a week of Theatre of the Oppressed training.
Also, after a sold-out workshop in 2018, we are bringing back our Advanced Linklater voice training later in the year. Whether it be onstage, through training, workshops, or community initiatives, QSE is so inspired by the students and groups we work with. We are delighted to be a part of such an engaging and passionate community and very much appreciate the dialogue we have with you, as we strive to make new connections and develop programs that give voice to all involved. So, it is with thanks that we present our 2019 Season - we look forward to playing with you!
