2019 Young Actor's Scholarship

QSE is offering the opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artist to attend our Young Actor's Shakespeare Intensive this July. The ideal scholarship recipient will be a young person (grade 8 - 12) keen to develop their performance skills and learn about playing with classical text.

Course Info

Dates: Tuesday July 09 - Friday July 12 2019 (participants must be able to attend all 4 days)
Time: 9:30am-4:30pm
Venue: Geoffrey Rush Drama Studio, University of Queensland

2019 Theatre of the Oppressed Scholarship

QSE invites Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artists to apply for this scholarship position to attend our 5-day intensive Theatre of the Oppressed workshop. The ideal scholarship recipient will be an experienced artist, 18 years or older, with interests in performance, group work, and socio-political change.

QSE is offering the opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artist to attend both weekends of our Linklater Voice Training. The ideal scholarship recipient will be an artist, educator, public speaker, or student (18 years or older).

Dates: Link 1 Feb 9th + 10th and Link 2 Feb 16th + 17th (please note participants need to be available for the full 4 days)
Time: 9am-5pm

Speaking Shakespeare in your Own Voice Scholarship

QSE invites Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artists to apply for this Scholarship position. The ideal scholarship recipient will be an experienced artist, teacher of Drama or Literature, applied theatre practitioner, or student (18 years or older).

I gained more of an understanding in how to tell a story and paint a picture through my own voice and experiences. I was surprised at how relatable and relevant Shakespeare is to present day life.
